What colours photograph best?

Solid colours can work really well and most people look good in mid-tones (green, blue and brown)

White can "wash you out" and black can look like a solid mass (rather than slimming you down).

Wear colours that emphasise your eyes!

By keeping things simple with a plain background, it ensures that the focus is on you.

Social Media Photos

The primary focus for a professional business headshot should be the face; specifically the eyes, as they are the windows to your soul.

Head shots for social media

Tight crops or unusual angle can make your shot stand out from the crowd.

Media Head Shots Media headshots

Do you photoshop the images?

Yes, I use photoshop. Digital files on professional cameras have an amazing amount of detail!!

I use editing techniques to even out skin tone, remove spots, brighten eyes and occasionally reduce the appearance of wrinkles and laughter lines, (although these are part of your character, they make you - YOU) so I don't remove them completely.

When should I update my photos?

If you have a drastic change of hairstyle or weight-loss or you have started wearing glasses

If you have a team of employees with images on your website, then obviously you need to update them as and when people leave or join the team.

If the clothing you are wearing in your shot looks dated.

Sexy photo shoots http://www.leetuckett.co.uk/blog/2017/4/sexy-shoots We all have varying levels of comfort and confidence and prudishness. Some ladies are happy to go topless on the beach, others will walk around the gym changing rooms naked without a care in the world, some will remain fully covered at all times.

You may look at boudoir images and say "NEVER - not for me" If this is you, please read on....

There are boudoir levels for everyone, there are some that you will feel comfortable with.

The implied nude (strapless bra or towel in place) with your modesty preserved.

You can shoot in your PJ's and it's still a sexy shoot

Or your partners shirt....it can be sexy!

You may be wondering why anyone would want those type of images. My clients have a number of reasons...

A wedding gift for the future husband - why not show off your wedding lingerie?...

a gift on to your husband on your wedding day of what lies beneath.

 An anniversary gift.

Boudoir photography Surrey - celebrating you!

Celebrating a milestone (weightloss and/or birthday)

I am always grateful when clients allow me to share their images, I want to demonstrate that a boudoir shoot is for every woman, no matter what shape or age. (Images are only ever used with the clients permission)

My boudoir shoots are confidential, personal and tailored to each client.

Some clients find themselves celebrating their new independent status

what better way to rebuild confidence than to realise "you've still got it"?

Remember that feeling when you go out in a new outfit, or a new hair cut?  You carry yourself with a bit more confidence, you've got your swagger back; that's the time when you get a bit more attention, friends compliment you on hair, clothes etc.

That feeling of confidence is exactly what a boudoir shoot can do for YOU.

Business Headshots http://www.leetuckett.co.uk/blog/2016/7/business-headshots A professional portrait is especially important for those using LinkedIn, Facebook and twitter for networking and marketing.

Business headshots or business portraits give potential customers their first impression of you and your business; your personality and your attitude to work for prospective clients and employers.

Business portraits SurreyCreate the right first impression Research shows that just having a picture makes your profile 14 times more likely to be viewed by others.

Have you never looked at someone's profile picture and jumped to a conclusion?... because it was taken on a night out, it's holiday snap, or dodgy selfie?

A selfie on the night out is not ideal

And while we’ve all been warned to “never judge a book by its cover,” some research supports the notion that our flash judgments are often correct.

Even if you haven't judged the non professional business portrait I bet you've looked at some profile photos and thought wow, he looks professional, trustworthy, friendly etc

Customer Experiential Events http://www.leetuckett.co.uk/blog/2015/8/customer-experiential-events One of the many things I love about my work is the variety that I encounter on a monthly basis.

From PR shoots; business portraits; conferences and team building events - the list of corporate photography work goes on.

This weekend I covered the third of these experiential track events for MINI, this weekend it was at Silverstone

corporate client event photography corporate client event photography This wasn't a sneak peek, or an unveiling of the latest JCW ......

We had use of the Stowe circuit (rather than the full track), from my perspective it was perfect with easy access to the track and briefing room.

This week I will be shooting PR events and business portraits, who knows what else is around the corner....Please get in touch if you would like me to cover your corporate event, want to update your online image or would like more information about my boudoir photography.  Don't forget to like my Facebook page, share the blog and leave me a comment

Henley Festival 2015 http://www.leetuckett.co.uk/blog/2015/7/henley-festival You may be mistaken (like me) in thinking that the Festival is the same as the Henley Royal Regatta, the social event founded in 1839...Wrong!

The Henley Festival is actually in it's 33rd year; it is a festival of Arts and Music. It started life with the focus on classical music however it has developed over the years into a 5 day festival with live music from different genre, contemporary arts, comedy and fireworks. Champagne, black ties and evening dresses add to the glamour of this quirky event.

I was fortunate enough to have the pleasure of covering Henley as a corporate event photographer, capturing the essence of the unusual festival.

Sit back, put your feet up and enjoy....

Photographers Fun - The 5 Pint Challenge http://www.leetuckett.co.uk/blog/2015/7/photographers-fun---the-5-pint-challenge Social media is can bring about some strange events; A little over a week ago a "friend" (and fellow photographer) on Facebook posted about The 5 Pint Challenge with the following statement: "....anyone one is welcome to join us" -  That was enough for me, even though I had never actually met this friend, I have enjoyed Dave "The Weather Gods" comments, his wedding photography and humour; so I signed up for the challenge.

The challenge was open to all, the only requirement was a camera and the willingness to enjoy a pint with fellow photographers from all walks of life.

The rules were simple:

a) Meet in the agreed pub at the agreed time.

b) Pull a photography theme from the bag (26 random themes were submitted in advance)

c) Determine your kit - lens, focal length and aperture in advance. These setting MUST be used on all the themes throughout the day

My kit selection was: Nikon D700, 50mm lens, F2.8

d) Take images within the agreed 45min time frame and get to the next pub to pull out the next theme & repeat accordingly.

e) Select process and submit your best shot per theme.

SIMPLES!

Pint 1, Theme 1 - Faith

Pint 2, Theme 2 - Construction

Corporate photographer Fleet HampshireConstructionScaffolding Structure As we walked into pub number 3 the weather was overcast, as the pints disappeared the sun appeared as did the shadows. (This was obviously down to Dave's self proclaimed "Weather God" status)

Pint 5, Theme 5 - Textures

When making the final selection I was conscious that I didn't want to have very similar shots to the other 8 photographers, although in reality this is fairly unlikely as we all see things differently and have different interpretation of the theme.

Here are some of my other shots taken, did I select wisely?  I would love to know your thoughts

It seems that the saying "Friends are just strangers you haven't met yet" is very true.

My thanks to Dave "The Weather God" as he was responsible for The 5 Pint Challenge, I now consider him a real friend (rather than a virtual one).

Thank you also to Lee, Mark, Sean, Shane, Graham, Ricky and Darren for welcoming me to their social gathering.

Boudoir Photographer - Thames Valley, Surrey, Berkshire and Hampshire http://www.leetuckett.co.uk/blog/2015/6/why-boudoir I have recently returned from a holiday with the girls, we spent a lot of time talking, one topic of conversation related to "being a prude"

We all have varying levels of comfort and confidence and prudishness. Some ladies are happy to go topless on the beach, others will walk around the gym changing rooms naked without a care in the world, some will remain fully covered at all times.

You may look at boudoir images and say "NEVER - not for me" If this is you, please read on....

Corporate head shots and profile images have increased in demand this year, a professional business portrait says a lot about you and your brand.

From the plain and simple, classic white background to the environmental workplace shots. The beauty of working on location enables variety, a simple studio can be set up in minimal space.

I have covered numerous corporate events, from the Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC, The British Dentist Conference in Manchester and many annual conferences and training events.  Each have their own challenges and rewards, capturing the essence of the event, telling the story for the client.

Fascinating locations have been provided for me: Whilst shooting some corporate head shots for a lovely new client, this is a behind the scenes shot of my on location "studio"

Goodwood Festival of speed is a firm favourite as a corporate event

The days are long, the traffic is a nightmare and finding accommodation close by is like finding a needle in a haystack. This year I took up residence in a caravan park on Selsey Island...Perfect in so many ways except for the lack of decent shower facilities.....I didn't go without but the suntan lotion seems to attract the dust and a jet wash is a more appropriate requirement!

Corporate event photography - Goodwood Festival of Speed corporate events

However Goodwood always provides a wide array of photo opportunities: from fast cars, bikes to people watching, seriously what is not to love?

On occasion the people watching pays off.....

The Red Arrows over Goodwood - Corporate event photosRed Arrows Flyby

Of course then there is the show stopping arrival of the red arrows just can't be missed....Well I say that but actually this shot for the client is easily missed. The Red Arrows arrive on the scene exactly when they are expected on the timetable, there is no announcement, no fan fair or count down, they appear from nowhere. Arriving with a flyby over Goodwood house the rest of the display is over the cricket pitch, offering the best viewing opportunity to the crowds. Over the four days the Red Arrows only make appearance twice, so being at the right place at the right time is crucial.

Ok so there is was lot of stuff going on in 2014....to read part two come back next week!

Question or challenge everything; judge no one - celebrate life http://www.leetuckett.co.uk/blog/2014/10/celebratelife
Modelling for a boudoir shoot comes easily for some.... for others it takes time, confidence and coaxing.
Meet Coco - she was kind enough to be my model on a recent boudoir shoot.

Meet Coco

Conversation flowed and Coco shared some of her experiences
of being a model with me.
Since the shoot I have spent time editing and reflecting on her words.

Then yesterday I observed a group of teenagers in a coffee shop "people watching"
and passing comment to each other....
The combination of observations, conversations and the shoot has resulted
in this blog....
\
Back to Coco (YES it is her real name) how did she feel?
Taking poses that perhaps only a loved one may see.....

Boudoir photography

Questions:
Looking at this image what do you see?....
Youthful beauty and innocence of this model?
Are you looking only at those areas deemed private or sexy?
How does it make you feel?
When I first started shooting boudoir I held mixed emotions....
Is it wrong to look at and admire another female?
To focus on the bosom area or curvature of her spine....
Does that make me "weird" or "gay"?

Womanly curves

Can you look at these images and see an art form? The beauty of her bodily form.
If it was a painting or sculpture would that make you feel different,
more comfortable, is that more acceptable?
Does seeing another woman in her lingerie make you feel insecure
about how you look unclothed?
Suggestive boudoir

When our bodies are so strong and integral to our being why do we
constantly desire to change them?
Is it media driven? peer driven? insecurities picked up from our mothers?
All of the above?
How many men will look and lust ... Wanting to know or see more?
Is the mystery of what lies beneath more tantalising and exciting
than having everything on display?
Will many feel ashamed, dirty or almost adulterous by gazing
and appreciating a beautiful body....
Will you feel embarrassed and make jokes or light hearted comments?

Beautiful model in lingerie

Coco chose to model for me. This does not make her an object of lust nor desire...
it is her job, she's a business woman.
Coco has been propositioned on numerous occasions.
She shared that many models that she knows are put into a similar position
where they are almost expected to prostitute themselves.
Just because you employ/pay someone does it give you the right to every aspect of their life?

This isn't a rant, neither is it a man bashing blog,
hopefully some of these questions have very obvious answers,
I don't want to give you my answers,
I just wanted to share my random thoughts and observations..

Lingerie model

How many of us are guilty of looking at the television, a magazine or
even through a coffee shop window and undressing or redressing, making up scenarios or
just commenting on a persons appearance status or style.....just like those teenagers.

Marilyn Monroe, Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, David Beckham are (were) icons:
does it give us the right to view them as sex objects?
Because they put themselves "out there" and they are famous does it
give us the right to scrutinise every area of their life?
family holidays, bad hair days, eating bacon butties?

With images easily, (maybe too easily available) Do we need to address
how we see beauty? the beauty of a nude or semi nude body
Should we take a different approach?

Do we need to learn how to look, comment and feel differently?
Maybe if we viewed our world and the people in it differently we would be kinder
in our thoughts about ourselves and our loved ones
and begin to instil some self (body) confidence in our children.

Boudoir photography

Otherwise we are as guilty as the generations before us.
Our children & teenagers should not be ashamed or worried about how they look
or become embarrassed on commenting how great a friend looks.

We all need to accept a compliment, to be comfortable and confident about giving compliments.

A woman looking at another woman and seeing beauty is not gay, weird or perverse
its complimentary, it is natural and it is flattering... likewise for men.
So what do you think? How do these images make you feel?....
Let me know I'm interested in your view.

My last thought for the day......
"Question or challenge everything;  judge no one - celebrate life"

Corporate Head Shots http://www.leetuckett.co.uk/blog/2014/10/corporate-head-shots Let’s face it, the corporate headshot is more than just a photo; it is part of the identity that you've created for yourself, your business and your brand.

Solicitors Business Headshot

It needs to say all the things you want it to say about you — friendly, professional,

approachable and trustworthy.

Professional corporate head shot

‘People buy people’ It’s a fact – we all prefer to deal with people we can relate to. It makes sense to have business portraits that let your personality shine through.

Business portraits or headshots can be used for numerous purposes:

on your business website, facebook page,

Professional corporate headshot Surrey

LinkedIn, Twitter, business cards, blogs, annual reports, newsletters.... the list goes on.

Linkedin photos Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire

A selfie just doesn't cut it! So I've put together some tips & ideas on how to get the best headshot for you.

What to wear?:

Wear clothes that are comfortable and that make you look and feel great.

Business profile images Berkshire; LinkedIn images

Ideally wear something that you would wear when meeting clients

Actors head shots;

It doesn't have to be a suit and tie, but it should reflect you and your style of business.

Lifestyle business portraits thames valley

Remember you are representing your brand values, you are the face of the business

Social media head shots Berkshire

Choose something that falls well and flatters your neckline.

If you choose to wear a suit make sure your jacket and shirt fit you well

(too big or too small will show in the photos)

Corporate Headshot London; Business Portraits

Clothes should be neatly pressed or even treat yourself to something new!

Long sleeved shirts/blouses are best, even for the head and shoulders shots.

Corporate, business portraits

What colours photograph best?

Solid colours work really well and most people look good in mid-tones (green, blue and brown)

Be careful - white can "wash you out" (unless it's a shirt under a jacket).

Professional website profile images

Darker shades are more flattering and slimming, however black isn't always the best colour,

Black can look like a solid flat mass -  navy, dark grey work well.

Wear colours than emphasise your eyes!

Professional head shots, profile images Hampshire

Blue/green/turquoise shirts/blouses or accents can help emphasise blue/green/hazel eyes

Corporate profile images, London

If you usually wear glasses, wear them in the photos. If you switch between contacts and

glasses have both styles taken.

Keeping things simple with a plain background, ensures that the focus is on you.

Management head shots, Surrey

The primary focus for a professional business headshot should be the face and

more specifically the eyes, as they are the windows to the soul.

Unusual head shots Hampshire

Tight crops or unusual angle can make your shot stand out from the crowd.

FAQ's

How often should I update my photos?

If you have a drastic change of hairstyle or weight-loss or you have started wearing glasses -

then it's a good idea to update your profile picture.

If you have a team of employees with images on your website, then obviously you need to update

them as and when people leave or join the team.

If the clothing you are wearing in your shot has dated, you should update.

A suit and tie can appear timeless, if chosen carefully, however we all change over time

so I would recommend and update every couple of years as a minimum.

Singer & musician promotional shot

Do you photoshop the images?

Yes, I use photoshop. Digital files on professional cameras have an amazing amount of detail!!

I use editing techniques to even out skin tone, brighten eyes and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and laughter lines, although these are part of your character, they make you - YOU

so I don't remove them completely......I don't do the botox look. :)

I have tried and tested techniques in lighting, posing and editing to ensure you are shown at your very best.
